Survivors of the Holocaust

Survivors of the Holocaust

Survivors of the Holocaust tell their stories in many forms - originally they were mostly oral history, told from one generation to the next. There have also been diaries detailing the personal accounts of holocaust victims and survivors. Survivors of the Holocaust were the inspiration for many films and books about the subject, including Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List.

More About Schindler's List

Schindler's List is based on a book detailing the story of Oskar Schindler. The Schindler's List film presents the true story of the Nazi party member who saved over 1100 Jews ( survivors of the Holocaust ) from concentration camps during the Jewish Holocaust of World War II. If it were not for the sharing and passage of stories of survivors of the Holocaust from person to person, this film may not have been possible. In addition to the book, the film also utilized Survivors of the Holocaust from all over the world who experienced the Holocaust first hand.
